Well one of the best experiences I have ever lived was the 3 days into the Amazon jungle.
I went with my best friend, Vaso, my travel soulmate, we have the same eagerness for travelling and we connect on all levels.
Lary , a local person embraced us into his family, his house.
We met his nephew and his parents. Amazing people, simple, true.
His brother and sobrino (nephew) would be our guides into the adventure into the jungle.
Our first stop was San Francisco, a beautiful village by the river.
Colorful and unique in its own way.
And then, the adventure began. We went into the jungle to experience its glory. Sounds from birds and wild animals was our soundtrack and the landscapes was our film tape.
Oh what an amazing view. Alone into the wild nature.
A unique feeling. So care free, so amazed.
We were hiking in the depth of the jungle day and night and our minds were full of pictures, it was like we were in an action movie.
We took the boat to enter to some areas that were not reachable otherwise. I fished piranhas and I caught a baby one, but we set it free again.
When I asked Lary if they are dangerous, he said with his calm voice, that ”piranhas don’t harm people, people harm piranhas” and at that time it made totally sense.
We were witnesses of the nature glory, it made me think that we are just passengers into the life course and nature is our home.
We then saw pink dolphins swimming in the wild water of the river and we heard about local stories and myths , that were very interesting.
Out of the sudden, monkeys were climbing trees and jumping around, they were all together, hundreds of them, they only move in groups, to protect each other.
We continued our trip into the infinite waters of the river and we ended up under an enormous tree which branches were like a cave, kayaking into a hidden path surrounded by extraordinary trees
The next day we trekked into the jungle , moving far away from where we stationed. Well actually we were sleeping in a hammock with a mosquito net. Ahhh the mosquitos, they were attacking us like crazy and we were full of pimples because of that. A challenge to cope with all the scratching.
Back to the jungle, we found a wild bird inside of a tree and it wasn’t afraid of us , it actually started following us.
Then we ended up on a little river where we refreshed ourselves.
At the end of our adventure, we spent some time with Larry and his family, who welcomed us so warmly, with pure kindness and simplicity that reminded me how is to be humble… shared with us beautiful stories and insights about their lifestyle and the jungle myths (or not)
An experience marked in my heart forever which I lived it together with my best friend who always brings the brightest colours in my life…
Amazon jungle I will return one day and Lary I hope I’ll see you again to give you a hug for the wonderful experience you gave us and the warm hospitality.
